A good number of people attended including new ministers, some volunteer Buddies and most of the OSMIC Steering Group. If you have a question for us, or you’d like more information, please get in touch by emailing Anne or Sarah at Gathering for New Ministers in September 2021 was a wonderful day. We are a very supportive group and have a lot of fun alongside developing the organisation. We are also looking for more members for our steering group and would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to be involved in this innovative and exciting venture. We have lots of ideas in the pipeline and are very open to ideas from anyone who would like to initiate a project of their own, with our support. We would love to extend this system to connect ministers from other years who feel they could do with some support and would be happy to hear from you if you feel this is something you would like, or if you would like to be a Buddy to someone else. A buddy, in this case, being a more experienced minister willing to share their experience, as well as offering friendship and encouragement. This has been going well, and we have about 16 new ministers from 20 who now have a Buddy. Our first major project has been setting up the Buddy system to support new ministers in their first years of ministry. We are a fledgling organisation with several exciting plans underway to enhance our structure and offer in 2022. We also intend to create a much wider awareness of OneSpirit ministry in the world and the wide range of services and care that OneSpirit ministers have to offer. There has long been a wish for a body of this kind to give new ministers a way to connect, and to offer additional support as they embark on their ministry- providing experienced ministers with a platform to share experiences and interests, publicise new projects, and develop awareness of the myriad of things that OneSpirit ministers are involved in and would like to share with others.
